Sam. Adams. Pork. Chops. Talk about some comfort food! If you haven’t noticed, I like to use beer in a lot of recipes. Beer and alcohol is a craft and so many people don’t appreciate what you can do with it! Fall finally hit here in southern Indiana so I was looking for something easy that could cook while I caught up on some chores. I had also just bought a case of Samuel Adams Octoberfest and was super excited to try some. So the idea came together to roast some chops in a dish of beer. But that’s not all! I also drizzled pure maple syrup over the top! The smell coming from the kitchen would make you drool! Paired with Cajun corn, mashed potatoes, and fresh rolls…..while a pumpkin pie baked in the oven. Oh LAWWWD, it was delish! I mean, my husband (who is a picky eater) was talking to his buddies about how good they were. I think that’s a win.
So, with no further ado, Sam Adams Pork Chops.
Ingredients
2 thick cut bone-in pork chops
1/2 bottle of Samuel Adams Octoberfest beer
1/4 cup of pure maple syrup
2 tablespoons of Worcestershire sauce
2 teaspoons of sea salt
3 teaspoons of black pepper
Directions
Preheat oven to 325 degrees(f). Sprinkle chops with salt and pepper and coat in Worcestershire sauce on both sides. Lay in a small casserole dish to where they are slightly overlapping. Drizzle maple syrup over top, covering all of the meat. Pour beer over the chops, enough to fill the bottom of the dish by a half inch. Cover and place in the oven. Allow to cook for 45 minutes or until the juices are no longer pink. Pull from the oven and allow to rest in the pan before serving. Now serve those babies up!
I hope everyone out there is enjoying my food blog, Spinach&Dounts, thus far. I haven’t been getting a lot of feed back, so if you have any comments or suggestions, feel free to leave me a message me so I know i’m not just talking to myself here!
